Aquatherapy
Physical therapy on land may be difficult to carry out due to pain and difficulty in maintaining proper posture. The water medium is a wonderful alternative. Rehabilitative exercises can be transferred to a warm pool, where the hydrostatic pressure protects the joints and keeps high blood pressure under control. The impact on joints is reduced in shallow water and absent in deep water. Therefore, you would be able to exercise longer and more comfortably.
Aquafitness
Aquafitness is a great way to start exercising in a low-impact environment or add variety to your regular fitness routine. The amount of impact on the joints is reduced because the exercises are performed in the water. The intensity of the exercises can be adjusted from low to high, based on your fitness goals. The session includes cardiovascular exercises such as jogging and jumping, muscle strengthening in the water with or without equipment, as well as flexibility exercises. You can train one-on-one with the instructor or in a group of up to 10 participants.
As a child or adult you can learn to be comfortable in the water. You will learn the proper breathing pattern in swimming and the correct technique of the four strokes: front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. If you would like to excel in a swim program as well, the requirements can be reviewed and practiced during the session. If you already know how to swim but would like to improve your technique, a few tips and adjustments can help you swim faster and with less effort.
